When the last Harry Potter came out Dean and I drove to Oklahoma City to see it. The theater in Altus is small and the movie doesn't fit on the screen. And for Harry Potter we wanted better. So we disguised it as a temple trip and drove to OKC. We went to the temple. I have a friend from college who lives up there and we met her and her husband for dinner. Then we saw Harry. Afterward it was still light outside and the theater we went to was downtown anyway so we decided to stop by the OKC Memorial and just look around. We didn't take a tour or go into the museum but we did walk around the memorial a little bit. It's a nice memorial but it was sad to see.
These are the gates at both ends:
These chairs represent everyone who died in the bombing. The small ones are for the children. They light up at night and they say it looks really cool.
This was put up by the Catholic church across the street. Jesus has his back to violence and is weeping. The pillars represent the children who died. And the empty blocks on the wall represent everyone who died.
Very cool and very sad
