This week we decided that we weren't going to go home for Thanksgiving. We thought we would stay in Oklahoma and do Thanksgiving ourselves. On Wednesday we decided to go to the temple and see Harry Potter while we were in OKC since our theater in Altus isn't the best. We looked on the church website and apparently overlooked where it said the temple was closed on Wednesday since we got there and it was closed. Dean wasn't very happy. But it gave me a chance to take a couple pictures:
Then we met a friend of mine from college that lives in OKC and went a really awesome theater and saw Harry Potter. It was the most expensive movie we have ever seen but it was very good. I think when the next Harry Potter comes out we will try to see it in OKC again since the theater was so nice. Thursday we got up early and went and played in the Turkey Bowl and then came home and thawed out. And then we made our first Thanksgiving dinner:
That's chocolate pie on the far left, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean cassarole, rolls, and a Mayne family tradition Koolaid ice cubes in Sprite. It wasn't much but for the two of us it was perfect and tasted so good. Jag also had a Thanksgiving feast. She got both bones from the ham:
Friday we decorated the house for Christmas. I put up the tree and a couple of decorations around the house and wrapped some presents and Dean put the lights up on the house. Here are some pictures:
Jag is very sad. I put the tree up in front of the living room window. We used to have a chair there that she would use to climb up onto the window sill and look out the window but she can't do that anymore. Now when someone leaves the house she goes nuts and starts whining since she can't watch us out the window. Oh well, it won't be like that for long.
Good Morning Maynes, Your Thanksgiving dinner looked yummy and I'm going to try the Mayne tradition! Your house looks really pretty for the holidays. We have just started to decorate ours, Bud put lights up on the deck rail and then a frame of a big tree that has lights on it also. You can see it Hwy 24! We had a really great thanksgiving also, will post on our blog.
ReplyDeleteWe really like the picture of Moroni through the gate circle. The house looks very nice (lights). We missed you both on Thanksgiving. The food you had looked great. We had a feast at Grandma G's.
