Today we went to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge about an hour east of where we life. It is a huge refuge in the mountains that has buffalo, prairie dogs, long horn cows, elk and a bunch of other animals. There is a road right through the middle of the refuge where you can drive and see all the animals right outside your window. There are some areas that are set aside for viewing certain animals but for the most part you just have to keep your eye out. And they get really close. We even had to stop once to let a long horn cross the road. And we saw a baffalo about 20 feet from the road. It has a lot of small lakes and some really cool views. It also has a lot of hiking trails and camping areas. We plan to go camping and hiking there sometime. Here are some of the pictures we took.
