Happy Opening Day!

Today we celebrated Opening Day for the Rockies. Since Kansas ruined my bracket and my March Madness celebration I needed something new to get excited about. So I decided since there is no final four to be excited about then I was going to celebrate Opening Day for MLB. I decided to make a huge schedule for the Rockies so we could follow the season closely (and I figured out how to print poster size prints on the copier and I love making things big). Once the final four is over I will put it on the wall where I have the huge bracket.

I made Dean a card and made some tickets for the game to surprise Dean. However since we don't live in Colorado the channels we get are blacked out for the Rockies game. I found this out midweek, after I had already made the card and tickets so I wasn't very happy and told Dean about the surprise. Then I found out the DirecTV is doing a promotional thing where we get MLB Extra Innings free for 10 days which means we do get the game after all. So I decided I was going to go ahead with the card and tickets anyway, but since Dean already knew about it I needed a clever way to disguise it. Today is also April Fool's Day so I decided to disguise my suprise with an April Fool's Day prank. So I made some brownies and smashed it in little rolls so it looked like dog poop. When Dean was asleep I put it in front of the toilet hoping Dean would step in it thinking it was dog poo when he got up to go to the bathroom in the morning.

I also had a sign that said "April Fool's, it's just brownies" taped to an envelope in which I put his card. It worked like a charm except that he didn't step in it. But he was very mad and made Jag go outside until he saw the sign. By then I was laughing so hard and he was so embarrased that he didn't want to open the card. But he did and he forgave me even though I couldn't stop laughing. Dean didn't waste any time getting me back. When we got back from playing basketball he asked me to get him a drink of water. I knew he was up to something especially since he said he just wanted tap water which he hates. So I cautiously got out a cup and turned on the water and got soaked. He had put a rubberband around the sprayer thing on the sink and had it pointed straight out so that when I turned on the water it sprayed right at me. It was really funny too. However I would say that Dean won because about an hour later I went to get a drink and did it again because I didn't take the rubberband off the first time.
